Exceeding Expectations
The Gulfstream G280’s clean-sheet design is already a class-leader in range, speed, efficiency and cabin comfort, besting even Gulfstream’s original targets for the new aircraft. Now, the G280 improves upon the original specification for landing distance also, opening up new airports, increasing utility and once again demonstrating Gulfstream’s commitment to create and deliver the world’s finest aviation experience.
Better Than Spec
Gulfstream recently partnered with aviation authorities in the United States and Europe to optimize operating procedures that reduce the G280’s approach speed by as much as 9 knots. The slower approach speeds translate to a shortened landing distance—2,380 feet/725 meters—for expanded versatility, such as access to airports with shorter runways, the ability to deliver more passengers or cargo into limiting runways, and up to two additional hours of unrefueled range.
All new G280 aircraft will be equipped with the software necessary to meet the new performance standard. All G280 aircraft already in service will receive this enhancement at no charge.
Opportunities Abound
Operators of midsize aircraft crave one advantage above all else: operational flexibility. Revised landing distance performance means that operators can visit Antwerp, the diamond capital of the world, for business. Stop in Cannes-Mandelieu, along the Côte d’Azur, for pleasure. Land in Mannheim or Speyer, near Germany’s innovation and technology centers, for sheer convenience.
Gulfstream further increases the performance gap among super-midsize business aircraft with the latest enhancements to the G280.
Superior All-Around Performance
Gulfstream further increases the performance gap among super-midsize business aircraft with the latest enhancements to the G280. The jet is equipped with advanced carbon brakes commanded by a state-of-the-art brake-by-wire system with autobrake functionality. This technology, paired with the G280’s powerful thrust reversers and optional enhanced vision system with head-up display, improve the landing performance in all conditions.
The industry’s best super-midsize aircraft just keeps getting better.
