Reliability is Not a Luxury
Reliability is a word we at Gulfstream don’t take lightly. We know that for our customers, reliability can mean the difference between seizing an opportunity or missing one. It can make the difference between getting to that important meeting on time in the morning and wishing your child happy birthday the same night in person, not from another time zone. It’s the difference between having dinner with your family and eating takeout alone in a hotel room. Business jets are about face-to-face opportunities, and reliability is a key factor in that.
For our Gulfstream G450 and Gulfstream G550 owners, opportunity is seized nearly 100 percent of the time, and that’s a number we strive for. Our average fleet dispatch reliability percentage for the G450 and G550 is 99.9 percent. That means that 999 out of 1,000 flights will depart on time as planned. But even one missed trip seems like too many, because we all know that a missed trip is a missed opportunity.
And so, we invest significantly to ensure that our aircraft are the most reliable in the industry. But reliability does not end with the aircraft alone. Our unmatched reliability is also a result of the operators who make sure their aircraft are ready to fly when they need to be and maintained as they should be.
We’ve put a few things in place that take out the guesswork and ensure that we support our operators, every minute of the day, every day of the year. Thanks to Gulfstream’s PlaneConnect and PlaneConnect HTM systems, our large-cabin aircraft can transmit vital information to our product support teams, and we can start working on an issue practically before it even happens. Our Field and Airborne Support Teams (FAST) can then dispatch with a part and a technician with next to no interruption in service much of the time.
Our best-in-industry reliability is not simply a byproduct of our aircraft’s performance. We put the full strength of Gulfstream behind making sure you get where you need to go. Our reliability is a result of the dedication and high standards established by our world-class employees, who set the bar even higher than the leading industry guidelines. This effort is made by thousands of employees, from engineers who design the aircraft to our service center technicians, field service representatives and even those who put together our customer newsletters, which often contain information to help our operators get the best out of their Gulfstreams.
